Division 1
Games were played on both Saturday and Sunday this week, whilst Wearmouth vs Coundon is rearranged for later in the year.
Murton commenced their NEDCL career with a win as they posted a total of 175 for 9, R Lowes top scoring on 45 not out. Whilst G Craig took 5 for 21 for Beamish. In reply Beamish were bowled out for 108, despite l Kirtley scoring 42, with M Oliver the pick of the murton bowlers taking 3 for 7.
Seaham Harbour also started the season strongly, posting 197 for 7 at home against South Hetton, S Pattison top scoring with 63, with L Lang taking 2 for 40 for Hetton. After tea Hetton were bowled out for 110, despite 44 from S McCoy, C Blackford took 3 for 18 for the Harbour.
On Sunday East Rainton travelled to Stanhope, however it was the home side that ran out the victors. J Holding top scored with 37 as Rainton posted 142 all out, with A Robinson taking 4 for 21. S Campbell made the difference for Stanhope adding 38, allowing Stanhope to victory with 3 wickets in hand. With J Holding taking 2 for 21.
The final game between Burnhope and Belmont was rained off.
Division 2
Once again games were played on both Saturday and Sunday. Whilst Simonside vs Seaham harbour has been rearranged for later in the season.
Saturdays only game saw Tantobie concede their tie to East Rainton.
Sunday saw victories for Beamish and Burnhope. Burnhope travelled to Belmont, the home team batted first making 80 all out, with I Pratt top scoring with 20, this was despite R Reynoldson taking 4 for 26. After tea Burnhope knocked off the total for the loss of 4 wickets, R Bendelow adding 36 of the runs.
Murton seconds travelled to Beamish, batting first the home team were all out for 86, with N Peel taking 3 for 5 and J Appelby top scoring with 17. After tea D Brewster top scored with 22 as Murton were bowled out for 63. This was thanks to M Thompson and J Appelby who both took 3 for 15.
