Most teams finished their season last weekend, however there was still one outstanding fixture. Coundon versus Beamish, Coundon batted first reaching 134 for 5, with V Ghanuvela making 52 not out when the rain arrived and caused the game to be abandoned. Final league table Hunwick - 278 - NEDCL Champions 2017 Burnhope - 266 East Rainton - 250 Wearmouth - 224 Kimblesworth - 218 Stanhope - 196 Beamish - 148 South Hetton - 133 Belmont - 102 Coundon - 79 Division 2 In Division 2 there was a final round of fixtures to play. With four games being completed, champions Kimblesworth had a final day victory at Kibblesworth. Kimblesworth batted first declaring on 187 for 3, with D Puncheon 79 retired hurt and M Messer 50 not out top scoring. With C Scott taking 1 for 8 in reply. After tea Kibblesworth were bowled out for 125, D Hughes added 45 runs despite M Messer taking 3 for 33 and R Cordoned 3 for 15. Belmont had a 6 wicket victory at home to Wearmouth, batting first Wearmouth were dismissed for 68, with C Spurs adding 13. Whilst J Mollett took 3 for 19 and J Ricketts 3 for 10. In reply P Cosforth made 21 not out as they passed the total for the loss of 4 wickets. C Spurs took 2 for 32. Simonside ended the year with a defeat at home to Hunwick. N Coxall made 48 and M Pattison 40 out of a total of 158 for 5, whilst W Johnson took 3 for 33. J Barron 38 not out as S Hill 33 not out then saw them past the total for the loss of two wickets. P Haynes took 1 for 47. The final game saw East Rainton declare on 105 for 6, with M Robbie making 53 not out. Burnhope were then bowled out for 79 runs. Tantobie and Beamish had their free weekends. Simonside (158 for 5) lost to Hunwick (159 for 2) by 8 wickets. East Rainton (105 for 6 declared) beat Burnhope (79 all out) by 26 runs. Kibblesworth (125 all out) lost to Kimblesworth (187 for 3 declared) by 62 runs. Belmont (69 for 4) beat Wearmouth (68 all out) by 6 wickets. Tantobie and Beamish free weekend. Final league table Kimblesworth - 391 - Division 2 Champions 2017 Burnhope - 291 Hunwick - 291 Simonside - 267 Kibblesworth - 252 Wearmouth - 214 East Rainton - 213 Belmont - 147 Tantobie - 126 Beamish - 54 So that concludes the final update for this season. Division 1 The final round of first Division fixtures saw this season’s title decided with both Hunwick and Burnhope in a position to claim it. The honours went to Hunwick, as the defeated Beamish by 7 wickets. Batting first Beamish made 129 for 7, with M Ellinor top scoring with 44, whilst A Troy took 3 for 34. In reply C Pratt made 72 to see Hunwick to the title. Burnhope also won, in a much harder game, which saw Kimblesworth declare for 243 for 6. S Emmerson 53 and C Hesselwood 107 made the bulk of the total, whilst J Jury took 3 for 26 in reply. Burnhope however claimed the 5 bonus points as they passed the total with 5 wickets in hand. J Jury 92 and J Morrison 98 saw Burnhope home. South Hetton came out on the right side of high scoring encounter with East Rainton, Batting first South Hetton put 283 for 4 on the board, with S McCoy not out 153 and B Stewart 97 contributing most, C Valance took two wickets for 75 runs. In reply Rainton fell 41 runs short for 9 wickets. With M Robbie posting 75 with M Cook taking 3 for 33. Stanhope also broke the two hundred mark, with 212 for 7, S Muse 87 and A Robinson 56 came despite J Halliday taking 4 for 45. In reply Belmont batted out the innings ending up 37 runs short on 175 for 8, A Robinson again features taking 4 for 37, whilst C Milnthorpe made 71 not out. Finally Wearmouth beat bottom of the table Coundon by 6 wickets. W Orchin took 4 for 9 as the away side were bowled out for 50 runs, 11 of which came from J Timms. Wearmouth passed the total for the loss of 4 wickets, despite C Sams taking 3 for 18, with C spurs ending on 23 not out. This was the final round of first team fixtures with Hunwick CC becoming NEDCL champions 2017, congratulations to them. Wearmouth (53 for 4) beat Coundon (50 all out) by 6 wickets. Kimblesworth (243 for 6 declared) lost to Burnhope (244 for 5) by 5 wickets. Belmont (175 for 8) lost to Stanhope (212 for 7) by 37 runs. South Hetton (283 for 4 declared) beat East Rainton (242 for 9) by 41 runs. Beamish (129 for 7) lost to Hunwick (131 for 3) by 7 wickets. Division 2 The penultimate round of Division 2 games is once again a dead rubber, as Kimblesworth have already claimed the division 2 title . Congratulations to Kimblesworth CC. The second Division also saw high scoring games, Burnhope racked up 330 for 6 declared against Wearmouth. With C Pither 129, M Steer 100 not out and J Allen 44 scoring for the home team. Whilst B Young took 4 for 83 for Wearmouth. In reply C Barella made 76 not out as Wearmouth were bowled out for 192. With M Steer again featuring taking 3 for 53. Hunwick also reach the three hundreds, as they made 308 for 8 against Beamish, with M Thrower 51, M Breen 83, and J Budd 86, whilst J Appleby took 4 for 50 for Beamish. In reply the away team made 49 all out, O Kent top scoring on 18, whilst W Johnson took 6 for 21. The final game saw Simonside defeat Tantobie in the clash of the first teams. Tantobie batted first making very respectable 152 all out, D Proud 39 and A Hunter 40 adding the bulk of the runs, despite N Coxall taking 6 for 39. In reply Anthony made 57 not out to see Simonside to victory by 5 wickets. Whilst D Arthur took 3 for 22. Hunwick (308 for 8) beat Beamish (49 all out) by 259 runs. Simonside (156 for 5) beat Tantobie (152 all out) by 5 wickets. Burnhope (330 for 6 declared) beat Wearmouth (192 all out) by 138 runs. East Rainton vs Kimblesworth – East Rainton conceded. Kibblesworth and Belmont free weekend. Final cup update Vinton brothers trophy final - South Hetton (188 all out) lost to Hunwick (189 for 9) by 1 wicket. Congratulations to Hunwick CC and comisserations to South Hetton CC.
