The division 1 title is by no means a certain thing this year, with just forty points separating the top six clubs. The big news of the day was second placed Hunwick losing by 5 wickets to Wearmouth. Hunwick batting first were all out for 61, with W Orchin taking 7 wickets for 23 runs. Wearmouth lost 5 wickets in the chase, giving them the 20 points. Leaders Burnhope survived by 19 runs at home to Stanhope, the home side batted first being all out for 92, D Bates doing the damage by taking 5 for 38. S Tweedy however reduced Stanhope to 73 all out, taking 6 for 25. Kimblesworth also remain in the fight however the defending champions were on the receiving end of a
8 wicket defeat. Beamish bowled out Kimblesworth for 117, with D Shaw taking 4 for 39. W Thompson then added 54 for Beamish as they crossed the line for the loss of two wickets. East Rainton also won to keep up with the chasing pack, Belmont were bowled out for 67 runs, Rainton then made it over the line for the loss of 3 wickets. The final game saw Coundon beaten in their search for an elusive win. South Hetton batted first making 182 all out. The away side were then bowled out for 49 runs, with N Tuck taking 6 for 12.
Beamish (118 for 2) beat Kimblesworth (117 all out) by 8 wickets.
Burnhope (92 all out) beat Stanhope (73 all out) by 19 runs.
East Rainton (68 for 3) beat Belmont (67 all out) by 7 wickets.
Hunwick (61 all out) lost to Wearmouth (64 for 5) by 5 wickets.
South Hetton (182 all out) beat Coundon (49 all out) by 138 runs.
Division 2
The second division leaders Kimblesworth continue their title charge, beating Beamish by 8 wickets. D Punshon took 4 for 17 as Beamish made 51 all out. Kimblesworth then passed the total for the loss of 2 wickets. Kibblesworth beat second placed Burnhope to peg back Burnhopes title ambitions. Kibblesworth ended their innings on 169 for 9, with L Davidson adding 50 of the runs. C Pither took 4 for 29 for Burnhope. In reply Burnhope were bowled out for 119 with L Davidson again helping Kibblesworth to victory by taking 5 wickets for 21 runs. The final game saw East Rainton travel to Belmont. Rainton were bowled out for 179, whilst Belmont batted out the overs making 117 for 9.
Belmont (117 for 9) lost to East Rainton (179 all out) by 62 runs.
Kibblesworth (169 for 9) beat Burnhope (119 all out) by 50 runs.
Kimblesworth (55 for 2) beat Beamish (51 all out) by 8 wickets.
