Division 2 saw East Rainton rise to the title, just, in a close run race with Simonside. Both teams won 11 matches, with just three points separating them with 248 and 245. Rainton moved up from 4th, Simonside maintained a second place. Kibblesworth once again finished third, winning 8 last year and 7 this time out. Division new boys Seaham Harbour finished 4th winning 6 and reaching 168 points. Belmont maintained a 5th place finish for the second year running winning 6 compared to last years 4, likewise Burnhope finished 6th again this term. Winning 4 games both seasons and finishing on 115 and 116 points consecutively. Beamish also maintained their placing, winning 3 both this year and last. With 92 points last year and 95 this time out. Other new boys Murton finished second bottom, winning 2 matches and gaining 70 points. Finally Tantobie once again proped up the table winning 1 match and securing 21 points.
2020 preview
Last week saw a unanimous vote by member clubs to complete the merger with the Durham cricket league and form the new 'Durham & North East Cricket League'. An EGM will take place in the next few weeks to merge the leagues. This will see both leagues merging, Divisions 1 and 2 will mirror the DCL tables from 2019 except with the promotion of Seaham Harbour. Our member clubs will be placed in divisions 3 to 6 based on this season's league placing. The new divisions will be as follows:
