Kimblesworth continue their unbeaten season, as they posted a colossal 321 for 8, with L Wright scoring 132 and P Savarimuthu 113 not out. Whilst D Steinberg posted 3 for 53. East Rainton fell 63 runs short, as they were bowled out for 258, with N Matthews 51, J Messer 56 and L Richardson 56, in reply K Kerr took 3 for 35. Kimblesworth now require 1 more win to secure both division titles.
Wearmouth who have chased the title all season, have slipped towards the end, this week they travelled to Stanhope and were beaten by 4 wickets. The away side were bowled out for 32, C Wayman top scored on 14, whilst H Muse took 3 for 13 and N Dalton 4 for 6 for Stanhope. S Campbell top scored with 10 as Stanhope lost 6 wickets in reply, with K Philiskirk taking 3 for 18.
The final game saw South Hetton climb up the table by defeating Belmont by 7 wickets. Belmont batted first and were bowled out for 86, P Heslop adding 27 not out, despite C Lee taking 3 for 4 and L Lang 4 for 22. S Latimer took 3 for 37 for Belmont but it wasn't enough, as Hetton crossed the line for the loss of 3 wickets. S McCoy top scored with 30 not out.
Beamish vs Coundon, was rained off.
Firstly congratulations to Kimblesworth seconds, who are division 2 champions 2018. The champions suffered a scare away at Simonside. The home team batted first making 173 all out. D Anthony top scored with 52 not out in a team effort. , whilst B Smith took 4 for 30 and K Kethanan 3 for 33 for the visitors. N Kulasegaram then top scored on 58, as Kimb lost 8 wickets to pass the post. This was thanks to J Surtees taking 5 for 45.
Kibblesworth slipped up in the penultimate week, losing by 9 wickets to Belmont. Batting first Kibb were all out for 61, with D Hughes top scoring on 23, whilst D Cook took 8 for 18 for Belmont. C Milne then top scored on 25, his was the only wicket lost in passing the total. As E Roberts took 1 for 11.
Beamish second shave been strong contenders all season and despite good performances, results haven't always gone their way. This week however it paid off. They visited Burnhope and ran out 4 wicket victors. Burnhope batted first making 150 all out, with D Portrey top scoring on 37. Whilst for Beamish J Appelby took 3 for 31 and J Simblett 3 for 32. After tea A Ward made 75 not out to see Beamish over the line, despite A Sowden taking 2 for 35.
The final game saw Tantobie return to action, but they lost to East Rainton by 73 runs. East Rainton batted first making 166 for 7. With K Hall top scoring on 62. Whilst L Maddison made 3 for 27. P Waite got Tantobie off to a good start on 30, but the innings closed on 93 all out. Whilst R Petherick took 3 for 22 and I Kitching 3 for 15.
The T20 Robert Dunnett finals day on Sunday was postponed due to the wet weather. New dates to be arranged.
