Division 1
The biggest game this weekend was table topping Burnhope against second placed Hunwick. Hunwick batted first making 226 for 7. C Elmes added 87 not out despite G Dawson taking taking 4 for 71. In reply L Shaw posted 72 whilst T Little took 5 for 40 to reduce Burnhope to 198 all out, a 28 run victory. Kimblesworth completed an 8 wicket victory over South Hetton, Batting first South Hetton made 171, with S McCauley 53 and J Quarmby 51 top scoring. In reply however Kimblesworth led a team effort, their top scorer was L Wright 55 not out. East Rainton kept their title hopes alive with a win at Beamish. Beamish made 65 all out, with D Steinberg taking 4 for 19. In reply Rainton passed the total for the loss of 1 wicket. Coundons hunt for a win continues, as they fell at Stanhope. Coundon made 56 all out, inspite of S McTaggart taking 6 for 15, Stanhope reached the total for the loss of 5 wickets. Finally the game between Wearmouth and Belmont was abandoned due to rain, Wearmouth batted first with C Paton making 55 out of 94 all out. C Smith took 4 for 28 for Belmont. Belmonts reply was cut short by the rain, with the away team on 35 for 4.
Coundon (56 all out) lost to Stanhope (57 for 5) by 5 wickets.
Kimblesworth (172 for 2) beat South Hetton ( 171 all out) by 8 wickets.
Beamish (65 all out) lost to East Rainton (67 for 1) by 9 wickets.
Hunwick (226 for 7) beat Burnhope (198 all out) by 28 runs.
Wearmouth (94 all out) versus Belmont (35 for 4) abandoned rain.
Division 2
Simonside continued their winning ways in the second division, away at Wearmouth. Wearmouth made 104 all out, Simonside then put on a team batting performance to reach the total with 4 wickets to spare. Tantobie also returned to winning ways this week, beating Belmont by 3 wickets. Batting first Belmont made 145 all out despite J Craggs taking 4 for 44. Tantobie then batted well to reach the total with 3 wickets to spare. In the final game Burnhope took on Hunwick, C Pither made 96 for Burnhope as the home side posted 278 for 5. They then bowled out Hunwick for 29 runs, with L Kay taking 4 for 5.
Burnhope (278 for 5) beat Hunwick (29 all out) by 249 runs.
Belmont (145 all out) lost to Tantobie (146 for 7) by 3 wickets.
Simonside (108 for 6) beat Wearmouth (104 all out) by 4 wickets.
