The early league leaders are both Murton and Seaham Harbour, both maintained their 100% records. Murton welcomed Wearmouth, Murton batted first making a healthy 261 for 6, with A Wellburn 54, J Vout 58 and R Lowes 65 not out. For Wearmouth K Ramanathas took 3 for 51. In reply C Spurs made 34 as Wearmouth reached 169 for 8. With T Vout taking 3 for 35.
Seaham Harbour travelled to Beamish, batting first the home team were all out for 81, with L Kirtley top scoring on 25, whilst G Davison took 6 for 14. In reply Harbour lost 4 wickets in passing the totalN Cowell top scored with 27 not out, whilst O Kent took 1 for 12.
South Hetton also notched up their first win of the year against Belmont. Belmont batted first making 145 all out, of which 54 were added by P Cosford. R Wilson took 4 for 20 for the home side. South Hetton passed the total for the loss of 5 wickets, C Milenthorpe took 2 for 42 for Belmont, but despite this N Adamson top scored with 55.
The final match saw East Rainton defeat Burnhope. Batting first Burnhope made 140 all out, L Shaw making 49 with C Valance taking 4 for 12. After tea L Richardson made 60 not out as Rainton passed the total losing 4 wickets. With R Omar taking 3 for 24.
In division 2, Kibblesworth started their campaign with a win at home to Murton. Batting first the home team made 187 for 5. With L Davidson scoring 72 and T Hughes 62 of the total, with D Brewster taking 3 for 29.
East Rainton defeated Burnhope by 9 wickets. Burnhope batted first, M steer scoring 49 out of 108 for 10. In reply K Burrell took 4 for 36. After tea R Richardson scored 67 not out, with M Steer taking 1 for 40.
The final game saw Simonside secure a 3 wicket victory over Belmont. Batting first Belmont made 147 for 5, with I Pratt 66 and D Bradley 52, with P Haynes taking 2 for 46. After tea a team effort secured the win, with C Owens top scoring on 37, despite J Lawson taking 3 for 33.
