Belmonts up turn in fortunes continued as they pulled passed Stanhope by 3 runs. Batting first Belmont reached 147 for 9, P Heslop top scored on 42 not out. Whilst M Dalton took 3 for 37. N reply Stanhope were bowled out for 144, A Young top scoring on 36, whilst S Jackson took 3 for 21 and J Ricketts 3 for 23. Wearmouth also continued their push for the top beating east rainton by 26 runs. Wearmouth 178 for 5, C Nicholson made 80 not out. With S Gillan making 2 for 29. Rainton were then bowled out for 152, with L Richardson making 82, whilst K Philliskirk taking 4 for 24.
Seaham harbour ran out 10 wicket victors over Beamish, batting first Beamish made 207 for 6. G Craig made 57, whilst A Wilkinson took all 6 wickets for 38. S Patterson 98 not out and M Marwood 94 not out saw harbour passed the total.
Kimblesworth maimaintained their place at the top, with a 3 wicket win over south Hetton. Hetton batted first making 149 all out, S Ferguson top scored with 74. R Beeson took 4 for 35 and D Smith 4 for 32 in reply. After tea, Kimblesworthpassed the total for the loss of 7, with P Savarimuthu adding 60, whilst R Wilson took 3 for 38.
The final game saw Burnhope beat Coundon. Coundon batted first making 136 all out, with V Ghanuvela making 67, whilst R Omar took 4 for 23. C Pither then top scored for Burnhope with 36, whilst A D Tait and B Hardy took 1 wicket each for 36 and 17.
Division 2
Tantobie have seen a revival in fortunes, beating Kibblesworth by 22 runs. Tantobie made 103 all out, with D Arthur making 21, and E Roberts taking 4 for 22 and A Awan 3 for 9. However Kibblesworth fell short being bowled out for 81, B Wilson again getting his name on the card taking 9 for 37 ( N Whiteford took the other wicket for 11 runs).
Kimblesworth, remain top of the table after a 7 wicket victory at East Rainton. Rainton batted first making 100 all out, B Batey top scoring with 29, whilst R Hetherington took 3 for 26 and S Krishan took 4 for 13. Krishan also top scored with 35 not out, whilst R Petherick took 3 for 38.
Burnhope also won against Simonside, batting first Burnhope made 204 for 8 with D Crozier making 63, whilst J Surtees took 4 for 39. Simonside then reached 147 for 9, R Henderson top scoring with 88, whilst M Spears took 6 for 34.
The final game saw Belmont take the twenty points against bottom side Beamish. Beamish batted d first making 137 all out, with the top scorer being K Goward on 36. For Belmont N Dobson took 5 for 27. After tea Belmont passed the total for the loss of 5 wickets with A Davison making 37, A Simbell took 2 for 45 and J Appleby 2 for 46.
