There were no first Division games today, however the four teams in the preliminary round of the Vinton Cup did play on Saturday.
Wearmouth (97 for 1) beat Belmont (96 for 9) by 9 wickets.
South Hetton (232 for 5) beat Burnhope (142 for 5) by 90 runs.
Division 2
Coundon reached their first victory of the season, they were bowled out for 70, then reduced Beamish to 42 all out thanks to the bowling of M Howe 4 for 22 and B Imarson 6 for 20. Simonside however had their first defeat of the year racing 182 for 8, thanks to a good team Batting effort. Hunwick however passed the total for the loss of 4 wickets, thanks to 82 from G Reed. East Rainton lost at the hands of Burnhope. Rainton batted first making 170 for 9, C Henderson Jnr made 51 not out towards the total, whilst C Halliday took 4 for 42 to slow down the Rainton men. Burnhope however passed the Total with 6 wickets in hand. The largest score of the day came from Kimblesworth who achieved 227 for 8, D Puncheon adding 63 and N Graham 66. In reply Kibblesworth reached 84 thanks to 4 for 32 from P Nixon.
Kimblesworth (227 for 8) beat Kibblesworth (84 all out) by 128 runs.
Hunwick (187 for 4) beat Simonside (182 for 8) by 6 wickets.
Beamish (42 all out) lost to Coundon (70 all out) by 27 runs.
Burnhope (171 for 4) beat East Rainton (170 for 9) by 6 wickets.
Belmont (144 for 6) beat Wearmouth (143 all out) by 4 wickets.
