Division 1
Kimblesworth continue to march towards the title, with a 46 run victory at home to Belmont. Batting first the home team declared on 227 for 8, D Puncheon 51 and K Kerr not out 73 adding the bulk of the runs. S Crampton took 3 for 62 in reply for Belmont. P Cosford added a valuable 53 and Belmont fell short, thanks mainly to T Taylor taking 3 for 28 and D Puncheon 3 for 37.
Wearmouth continue their hold on second place, with a home victory against Seaham Harbour. Harbour batted first and were bowled out for 58. A Davison being particularly effective taking 5 for 1. with S Pattison top scoring on 14. A Davison also top scored for Wearmouth on 19 not out, whilst N Corkhill took 1 for 11.
Burnhope also look like a top end finish after a 81 run victory over bottom club East Rainton. Batting first Burnhope reached 272 for 6, with L Shaw 67 and A Hughes 96 being worthy of note. C Valance took 2 for 44 in reply. After tea Rainton ended on 191 all out, with S Archbold top scoring with 54. Whilst C Halliday took 3 for 52 and S Tweedy 3 for 26 for the home team.
South Hetton completed a comprehensive 9 wicket victory away at Beamish. Batting first the home team made 233 for 7, with L Kirtley 54 and J Stafford 64 adding the runs, whilst N Haughton took 2 for 34 for S Hetton. In reply however A Nicholson not out 89 and C Ferguson not out 107 saw Hetton home.
The final game saw Coundon win by 9 wickets away to Stanhope. A Robinson made 22 not out as hope were bowled out for 101, J Timms taking 3 for 26. After Tea, V Ghanuvizla was 48 not out when coundon passed the post. H Muse took the single wicket for 27.
In division 2, Kimblesworth also seem to have the title in their grasp. Today Belmont put up a fight, only losing by 4 runs. Belmont batted first, being bowled out for 75, J Smurthwaite top scoring with 23, whilst P Nixon took 3 for 8 (including a hat trick). In reply L Puncheon made 22 not out as the away team passed the mark, whilst T Cook took 4 for 25 for Belmont.
Kibblesworth also continue to push at the top, as they beat Simonside by 7 wickets. Batting first Simonside made 166 for 9. With C Glancey making 28 to top the scoring. Whilst E Roberts and a Bush took 3 wickets for 40 and 43 respectively. Kibblesworths response saw A Awan make 101, despite M shepard taking 1 for 6.
The final game saw Tantobie beaten by Burnhope. Burnhope batted first making 190 for 5. A Sowden ending the innings on 45 not out. Whilst N Whiteford took 1 for 22 in reply as 5 Tantobie bowlers took a wicket each. In reply Tantobie were bowled out for 95 with A Tones top scoring on 38. Whilst A sowden took 2 for 11.
East Rainton vs Beamish was played last week and saw Rainton victorious. Rainton 71 - 3. Beamish 70 ao.
